Young businessboy...

This cute young boy is no other than my son Lucas. As you can see he is also a part time model, the rest of the time he spends getting up to all kinds of "tricks". Isn't amazing though, just like with Coco (see earlier post), Lucas just immediately starts to "model" when he is put into a "scenario" like this. He just loves it, using he entire repertoire of poses, facial expressions etc. with very limited directions from mum and dad.

The shoot didn't go on for long and when we called an end to it he didn't want to stop. He was fighting his way back to the computer - I guess that is because he absolutely loves it, with all the buttons, lights, sounds etc. Quite a few times I've found him, when the laptop has been left unattended, pulling off the little buttons of the keyboard - trust me it is very fiddly to get them all back in the right place.

Working from home - good or bad?

Before the internet was widely available to the masses it would be very difficult to have a successful career working from home. Today though we see more and more people working from home.

Obviously it is the marvel of modern technology that facilitates all this - we can now stay connected to the world regardless where we are located. The possibility of working from home obviously comes with both pros and cons. The main benefit of working from home is the flexibility - you're your own boss, you can start and stop when you so desire. Other benefits include that you stay close to your family, don't have to commute, if you don't feel like it you don't even have to get "ready" in the mornings.

However, the perceived benefits of working from home are a double-edged sword. Firstly, it is so easy to let the flexibility quickly turn into "always available" to others (friends, family etc.). Both yourself and those around you find it very convenient that you are always available to do or help out with things. Too much of a good thing is deemed to be bad, and this applies here also.

Secondly, it is also extremely hard to end the working day, switch all computers off, close the office door and "go home". I often find myself in the evenings, on weekends, "drawn" to the office, to fix little things, check things or even work.

Overall though I would say it is great to work from home, but I think it is important to always remind yourself to not become lax about it, and also that it is as vitally important to not let it consume you fully. The best thing is probably to open and close the office door at the same time every working day, albeit a bit of flexibility on those times are permitted...

This is one of my favourite pictures. I love Suzanne's outfit, the pose, the cleavage, the eyes, the bright red lipstick - everything about this picture is just implied, stylish, but at the same time a bit naughty...

What is stock photography?

I get the same question all the time - "what exactly is it that you do?". I always say, I try to take saleable images and then sell them. Obviously, doing this for a living it is maybe not as simple as it sounds It takes quite a bit of research, know-how, technical ability and persistence to do this. So basically I take pictures that I think will sell and then license them via a stock library (I’m using several different ones for different kinds of material, type of licenses, geographic presence etc.).

Cute Shar-Pei puppy called Coco

This adorable Shar-Pei puppy is called Coco and I think she was about three months old when these images were taken. She was an absolute joy to work with and I’m absolutely convinced she love the attention she got from working in front of the camera. There was basically no direction involved, just put her on the white backdrop and let her to her thing - which she did. She struck pose after pose and gave me a bundle of keepers after the session, this is only two of them.

Antigua

Just happened to come across this picture whilst doing some admin. Seeing it brings back great memories of our best vacation ever at the St James' Club in Antigua. 16 days of absolute heaven - strongly recommend anyone who haven't been to Antigua to go there - it is perfect.

Did I mention that Antigua has 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, most of them are empty, secluded, perfect fine white sand och turquoise water.
